New England Adaptive Technology marketplace in Hartford (with a satellite facility in Stratford, CT) - has products, equipment and services (eg. scooters, lenses, all sorts of technology tools) for everyday activities for persons with special needs; many can be rented or used before purchasing. Many are refurbished tools that are lower costs than buying new.

Sorenson VRS (SVRS) empowers deaf and hard of hearing callers, who use American Sign Language (ASL), to conduct video relay conversations with callers who have no hearing impairment. Sorenson Communications was the first to design a videophone specifically for the deaf community. They were also the first to provide a videophone at no cost to deaf and hard-of-hearing individuals.
