Our organization advances equity for women and girls through advocacy, education and research. We have adopted Wilbur Cross School in Bridgeport for tutoring and mentoring. We support several organizations for women and girls in Bridgeport, and give college scholarships to women in the Bridgeport area every spring. We have book groups, global issues discussions, a networking group, authors luncheons, and advocates at the state house. Research conducted by our national association is respected.

Description of Organization and Activities:
Community Sailing of Fairfield, Inc. (CSF), a non-profit sailing program operated by its members under the auspices of the Town of Fairfield Parks & Recreation Department, is based at the Town Dock (Ye Yacht Yard) in beautiful Southport Harbor. This sailing program makes available to its members, two fixed keel, family-size Ideal 18 daysailers, and 2 one-man and 4 two man kayaks. The members of CSF share their use on a reservation basis. Household memberships are available to anyone over the age of 18 who pass our sailing and kayaking requirements. CSF offers sailing seminars to the public and lessons to members only. Lessons are taught for an added fee by a US Sailing-certified Sailing Instructor, or equipment familiarization, free from other members offering their services. Members are invited to participate in Pequot Yacht Club Ideal 18 races and area regattas. Members volunteer to operate and publicize the program, and maintain the boats.

days/week sailing privileges); $250 Weekday (sailing privileges limited
to non-holiday weekdays); a 10% senior discount is offered to members over the age of 62. Membership fees are for the household and cover the cost of all insurance, maintenance and unlimited sailing in 2 hour time slots during the sailing season..
Eligibility/Membership Information: Open to all persons 18 years of age or older, who pass a test to demonstrate basic sailing and water safety skills. A Safe Boating Certificate (CBC) is required.

Founded in 1914 by Connecticut Audubon Society founder Mabel Osgood Wright, Birdcraft is the first private bird sanctuary in the U.S. It includes the Teaching Bridge and Pavilion that abut Birdcraft Pond. Starting in the spring the pond is teeming with Painted Turtles and Tree Swallows, many duck species, visiting Black-crowned Night Herons and many other species of song birds.
Focus
To offer premier natural history education programs and exhibits for the benefit of school children and adults and to preserve the historic heritage of the facility as the first privately owned songbird sanctuary in the country.
