The Bruce S. Kershner Gallery at the Fairfield Public Library will be showing art by the winners of a juried exhibition held last May from January 8 to February 19, 2012. The opening reception will be on Saturday, January 14 from 4-6 pm with a talk by the artists at 5:00 pm.
The three winners from the May Dialogue in Color show are Roberta Friedman, Hyun Joo Jung, and James Travers. Their artwork was selected by Adrienne Ruger Conzelman from ARC Fine Art, LLC. who was the juror for the Dialogue in Color show.
Roberta Friedman, from North Haven, CT, is a watercolor collage artist. She transforms papers and natural found objects into layered paintings that explore the unpredictability of water based media.
Hyun Joo Jung, from Meridian, CT, works with oil on canvas and the artist is inspired by images from nature pursuing a quality that shimmers beyond the subjects physical appearance.
James Travers, from Newtown, CT, is a sculptor who creates contemporary abstract metal sculptures that evoke visceral emotion.
